Can A Service Contract Be Sold In An “As-Is” Sale?

Car Counselor: I know you have answered this before, but for those of us that don’t remember the answer; can a dealer sell a service contract on a pre-owned vehicle that he is selling As – Is?

Assuming that your dealership is in a state where as-is sales are permitted, a dealer is permitted to sell a service contract in connection with an as-is sale.  For additional information on the sale of used vehicles you can download a copy of the “Dealer’s Guide to the FTC Used Car Rule” here on Auttr.
