Auttr is Where Social Networking Meets the Auto Industry. You can create personal networks with friends and business associates. There are many powerful features in Auttr that can help you build personal networks. The best way to learn how to use these features is to have fun and explore. Understanding basic navigation is easy. There are 3 main areas that can guide you through Auttr: The Admin Bar, the Log In/Sign Up Bar and the Navigation Bar. The Admin Bar is the black bar on the top of the page. You can sign up to create an account, log in to your account and navigate through the back-office to update your profile and posts. See image below.
Admin Bar – My Account
After you have created or logged in to your account, new navigation appear on the Admin Bar. The first navigation button is My Account. The My Account button give you quick and easy access to all of your Profile information on Auttr. The Profile section is described in detail in the Help section below. See image below.

The next navigation button is My Blogs. The My Blogs is a powerful back-office application on Auttr. See image below.

The next navigation button is Notifications. The Notifications button alerts you to personal messages from members on Auttr. See image below.

The Log In Bar is located just below the Admin Bar. This is where you can sign up as a new member or log in as an existing member. See image below.

How to sign up and create an account with Auttr
Becoming a member of Auttr is easy. To sign up, simply click the ‘Sign Up’ button on the left-side of the top black task bar or the ‘Sign Up’ button on the right-side of the Log In Bar just below the Admin Bar. There is also a third option to create an account under the Welcome message. Follow the instructions and respond to the email notice that you will receive. See image below.
Registration
There are 3 information boxes to fill out in order to creat an account with Auttr. The first box requires a Username and Email Address. Please be careful when selecting a username and typing in your email address. The next information box includes the Profile details. And the third information box is for your Avatar. Prepare the avatar image ahead of time if possible. The image should be square (saved as a GIF or JPEG) no smaller than 50px by 50px and no larger than 150px by 150px. Click the ‘Browse’ button to find your image on your computer and upload to Auttr. You can also add or change your avatar later if you wish.
When adding a company web site to your profile, make sure to add the prefix ’http://’ to your web address. For example: http://www.yourwebsite.com.
Click ‘Next’ and follow the instructions. You will receive a confirmation email from Auttr. Check your spam folder if you cannot find the email in your In-Box. See images below.

Facebook members
If you are already a member of Facebook, a popular social networking web site, click the ‘Facebook Connect’ button located on the right-side of the top light gray navigation bar. You can use your Facebook account to Log In and use many of Auttr’s services. If you signed on to Auttr through Facebook Connect and you want to change your avatar, you will need to update your avatar through your Facebook account. See image below.

Home
The Home page includes a Recent Posts section where you can post messages in real time. There are also Member and Group information as well as a Site Wide Activity side bar. See image below.

Members
The Members page includes a Members Directory where you can search for friends and businesses. There is also a Featured Members side bar that highlights industry leaders. See image below.

Groups
The Groups page includes a Groups Directory where you can search for and participate in group discussions. There is also a Featured Groups side bar that highlights important group sessions. See image below.

One great feature of Auttr is the ability to post messages. You can write and post a message from your computer and cell phone in a variety of methods.

During the registration process, members create a ‘Profile’ of their account. This includes “First Name”, “Last Name” and a profile picture upload option. To reach your profile or the profile of any member, click on the underlined member name. You can also access you Profile and all of the related sections quickly under the My Account in the Admin Bar. Please review the information below.
Activity
The Activity section under your Profile consists of two sections: Just Me and My Friends. See image below.
Activity streams aggregate all of your activity across Auttr. All of your friends activity is also recorded so you can check what others are doing on the site. Every component can make use of the activity stream component, which means any sort of activity can be recorded. Wire posts, blogs posts, new friendships and blog comments are among the most popular activities recorded. See image below.

Profile
The member Profile area is the hub of your activities with Auttr. Profile consists of 3 sections: Public, Edit Profile and Change Avatar. See image below.

Wire
The Wire is a place where friends and other members can come together and post messages within Auttr. Post a ‘Wire’ message in the text box on the Wire page. The Wire also allows members to post on other members profiles or leave messages for other group members. Think of the Wire as an internal message board. See image below.

Messages
Auttr private messaging works like internal site email. Members can send messages to folks on their Friends list as well as forward and reply to received messages. Each member has their own individual Inbox, Sentbox, and Drafts folder. Members are notified of new messages by a new message count, in the task bar Notifications tab, as well as email notifications if enabled. Sending of messages to multiple friends, is also possible. Friends
Members Auttr can connect with other members by adding them as a “friend” and then the other member accepting the friendship request. Each member has a visible list of their friends on the site. Friends lists are browsable and members can click on each friend to see more information and add them as a friend. The ability to search for members by profile information is also possible. Groups
Groups in Auttr are a gathering of members, wires posts and forum topics. Any member can create a group in Auttr. Members can become a group administrator which gives you certain privileges within that group. Every group includes a place for group information, and the latest group news which can be kept up to date by group administrators. Groups also include a group forum, and Wire where group members can engage in discussions. See image below.
