General Motors will produce the Cadillac Converj plug-in concept car that was introduced at last year’s Detroit auto show according to Vice Chairman Bob Lutz. The two-door Converj uses the same technology as GM’s Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric vehicle, due to be launched late this year. No definite timing for introduction of the Converj has been given, but it has been said it would be after 2012.

GM has utilized Social Networking by launching a new web site that promotes the Chevrolet Volt. The web site describes the new venture: “Chevrolet VoltAge is a social network for Volt and electric vehicle enthusiasts to engage in conversations around the Volt and vehicle electrification more broadly. We invite you to join in the conversations happening here.” The web site includes articles, forums, and videos that describe the car. The goal of GM is to involve customers and potential customers in a discussion with GM executives and staff.
