Specifically, this reality begins with the recognition that profit margins will be much smaller than they were in the previously inefficient market. This new reality sets up two important questions. First, will there be a race to the bottom where no one makes any money? Second, if not, who are the winners and losers in such an environment?”

Funny you should mention…

Social Media Captivates Auto Insurance Companies

Technology…technology… technology… that was the overriding theme as we listened to a number of industry professionals speak at Joint Marketing and Underwriting Seminar has always been important in the insurance market but never more than in 2010!

Unlike other years where technology has been focused on how to improve underwriting or claims, it is more apparent that marketing is now king and insurers must quickly enhance their marketing strategy and their use of technology. The social media craze has gripped the insurance industry which was clearly evident as almost every professional at the PCI seminar attended the special social media session.

After reviewing the curriculum for this seminar, which appears to have solid and useful content, I will – most likely – attend. However, I am confused that you’ve list several well-known, main stream Social Media sites (ie: Facebook & Twitter) as part of the curriculum, but left out AUTTR.com, which is, by far, the most popular AUTO-RELATED Social Networking site online to date. Obviously, you feel it’s a useful avenue yourself – since you’ve utilized it to get the word out about your seminar. Seems to me that that alone would made it a valued addition to the content of your Social Media curriculum discussion.
