I noticed that another post has already informed everyone of the fact that the Great Lakes Warranty Company has closed it’s doors. That, is the bad news, but there is good news that will come from this and the good news is that there are many good companies who want to do business with you and they are all “FULLY INSURED”.

NIADA has implemented a national Certified Pre Owned Program for all dealers which gives the Independent Dealer the opportunity to compete heads up against the new car dealer. The OIADA has formed professional relationships with companies known as “PREFERRED PARTNERS” and these companies have been checked out thoroughly, they are all fully insured by reputable Insurance Companies and all of these Preferred Partners have a program for the dealer members to help them in settling future claims made on past service contract sales made with Great Lakes.

I suggest that all dealers stop playing russian roulette with all of these uninsured, reinsured, offshored, bonded or Risk Retention companies and visit our website, www.ohiada.org. While you are there visit the “Preferred Partner” page and take full advantage of contacting any one of the fully insured companies listed and rest assured that all of your claims will be paid no matter what……….PERIOD.

If you were doing business with Great Lakes Warranty Company consider this a lesson, if you weren’t doing business with them consider this a warning to verify the credentials of the company that you represent. And as always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me personally.
